Gil Rossmiller, chief building official for the Town of Parker, was recognized with a top national award for his efforts to make the town’s homes and businesses as energy efficient as possible.

The Excellence in Energy Code Compliance award was presented to Rossmiller for superior practices that have raised the standards for energy efficiency through building codes. Rossmiller was one of three award recipients—and the only recipient of an award for individual excellence--at the annual meeting of the International Code Council in Portland, Ore.

“He brought the building industry and the building inspector together for energy code trainings long before this type of collaboration was thought possible. His example is now followed by other municipalities across the country,” said Jim Meyers, director of the buildings program at the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project.

The award was presented by the Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) and the Global Buildings Performance Network.
