A man was detained at Iron Horse Elementary school in Parker on Sept. 16 after officers responded to a report that the man at the school had threatened to harm himself the night before. Responding officers put the school on lock down for security precautions.
During the investigation, the Parker Police Department learned that the man was at the school attempting to meet his girlfriend there, who was dropping off her child. He was contacted by officers in the school parking lot, and was unarmed and cooperated with the investigation, said Officer Sherry Corcoran. The man was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital without incident.
“This was an isolated incident and the Parker Police Department does not believe that the public or school officiasl were in danger,” Corcoran said. “The man never entered the school and did not make any outward threats while at the school.”
