The Parker Cultural and Scientific Commission has openings for residents who would like to foster, implement and participate in opportunities for cultural and scientific experiences for the community.

The commission is an advisory board to the Parker Town Council and works with Parker Arts, and members are appointed by town council to serve two-year terms.

The commission is committed to the vision that Parker Arts will be fundamental to Parker's identity as a vibrant community. Members draw on their diverse skills, experiences and interests in arts, science, history and culture to support Parker Arts' mission.

Members serve on committees to lead public input, foster partnerships, and help implement programs. Profiles of commission members and minutes from previous meetings can be found at www.ParkerArts.org/Commission.

The commission meets every other month, on the third Tuesday, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the PACE Center. Terms begin in January 2019. Members must attend at least four meetings annually and must abide by a conflict-of-interest policy, which prohibits members from pursuing employment or paid contracting with Parker Arts.

To apply, send an email detailing the reasons you believe you should be selected to Elaine Mariner at emariner@parkeronline.org. Include a resume or detailed bio. The deadline for applications is Nov. 30 and select applicants will be asked to attend in-person interviews Dec. 4-5.
