Proposed Parker development aims to be warm, welcoming

The Grove on Mainstreet would be built in three phases west of downtown


Parker Mainstreet Partners LLC is proposing a mixed-use development that they hope will provide a warm and welcoming sense of place in Parker, in the area known as the West End of Mainstreet.

The Grove on Mainstreet, located between East Stage Run and Mainstreet, and Twenty Mile Road and Dransfeld, would include three phases of development. Phase one includes getting a site plan approval of a mixed-use hospitality building, which would feature restaurants, retail shops, a tap room and boutique hotel. It also includes approval for a pedestrian plaza, which would connect pedestrians from Mainstreet to the AMC movie theater on Stage Run. Phase two would include an entryway building to the Grove.

“The Grove on Mainstreet will be a positive addition to the Parker community,” said Dennis Houston, president and CEO of Parker Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited for the expansion of the entertainment district and the development of an environment that supports a welcoming and enjoyable gathering place.”

According to Mitch Trevey, development manager with Parker Mainstreet Partners, the Grove will provide much-needed pedestrian trails, shops and open space for many who live around the proposed site.

“We have about a thousand apartments near here, and the Grove will be close enough for these people to walk to,” said Trevey. “This west side of Mainstreet has been just a blank slate. We hope to bring life and vitality to West Mainstreet.”

The project is slated to include a spacious public plaza, a 51-room upscale boutique hotel, specialty restaurants, and a mix of retail shops and restaurants. The plaza will include a fire-pit area, and will be used for a gathering place and seasonal events. Public art, street trees, lighting and furnishings will be emphasized as common threads to tie together the downtown's two distinct districts, the West End and Old Town, according to Parker Mainstreet Partners.

“We feel that The Grove will be a welcome addition to the Parker downtown area and a legacy project for Mainstreet,” said Mitch Trevey of Trevey Land and Commercial, representative for Parker Mainstreet Partners. “The Grove's plaza will offer a new destination for our residents with a pedestrian connection from Mainstreet to the AMC Theater on Stage Run, and easy access to the great trail system of Parker.”

Neighbors will be invited to local meetings offering information about the plan, allowing them to see renderings of the conceptualized project to to offer input.
