Bomb squad determines packages no threat at light rail station

Posted

At about 1:07 p.m., deputies of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office and the sheriff’s bomb squad responded to a call of suspicious packages at the Nine Mile Light Rail Station located at 3179 South Parker Road.

The two packages, which were left in the pedestrian tunnel between the Nine Mile Light Rail Station and the Park and Ride Structure, were examined by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad. It was determined that both packages were non-hazardous and non-threatening. The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office established a unified command with local agencies during this event to ensure the public’s safety.

At this time, the Nine Mile Light Rail Station and all surrounding roadways have been reopened for normal travel.
