Douglas County meetings to be held as teleconferences

Residents will still be able to listen and provide public comment

Posted

The Douglas County Board of County Commissioners and Planning Commission will now hold their public meetings remotely via a teleconference program, according to a news release from the county.

Residents will still be able to listen on their phone or computer and submit public comments via email.

“You are invited to participate electronically in these virtual meetings,” according to the release.

Agendas and ways to listen in to each county commissioner meeting are available at douglas.co.us/meetings-and-agendas. Public comments can be submitted before each meeting by emailing them to clerk@douglas.co.us. Residents will also be able to virtually “raise a hand” during the meeting and give an audio testimony. Their next regular meetings will be March 24 and April 14.

The same information for planning commission meetings is available at douglas.co.us/planning-commission. Public comments can be submitted to planning@douglas.co.us. The next regular meeting is April 6.

“You are part of the solution to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” according to the release. “Stay safely at home except for essential trips, create physical distance from others when you're outside your home, use your favorite technology to maintain important relationships. These actions combined will limit our collective risk and save lives.”
