‘Financial Freedom’ course offered by Douglas County Libraries

A free seven-part course called “Financial Freedom” will involve workshops offered at various Douglas County Libraries between Jan. 9 and Sept. 10. It’s timed to coincide with many folks’ New Year’s resolution lists and is appropriate for parents and teens who need some help with money management.

Registration for each program will be offered one month before it is scheduled at www.douglascountylibraries.org or 303-791-7323.

The series is presented in partnership with BBVA Compass banks, one of America’s largest commercial banks.

Schedule: (All sessions begin at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays.)

Jan. 9: Banking Checking 101 at Highlands Ranch Library, 9292 Ridgeline Blvd., Highlands Ranch.

Feb. 13: Managing Credit and Debit. Philip S. Miller Library, 100 Wilcox St., Castle Rock.

April 9: Identity Theft: Basics and Prevention, Lone Tree Library, 8827 Lone Tree Parkway.

May 14: Create a Household Budget, Parker Library, 10851 S. Crossroads Drive, Parker.

June 11: Saving for Retirement, Castle Pines Library, 7437 Village Square Drive, #110, Castle Pines.

Aug. 13: Borrowing Basics, Roxborough Library, 8357 N. Rampart Range Rd. # 200, Roxborough.

Sept. 10: Become a First Time Home Buyer, Highlands Ranch Library, 9292 Ridgeline Blvd., Highlands Ranch.
