The Weld County Sheriff's Office is looking for a Fort Lupton man who broke into a home and committed crimes with a firearm, according to a press release.

The suspect is 52-year-old Carlos Alvarez, of Fort Lupton. The incident happened Dec. 5 northwest of that city. The statement said deputies think it was a targeted incident and that Alvarez knew the victim.

Authorities didn't release details about the crime or extent of any injuries due to victim safety concerns.

Spokesperson Joe Moylan said Alvarez is armed and dangerous. Alvarez also has ties to Brighton, Lochbuie, Severance, Pueblo and Florida. Alvarez also has an arrest warrant from the Hudson Police Department for felony identity theft and a federal warrant for receiving, possessing or concealing stolen goods.
