Sarah Palin, 44, eight months pregnant, with a baby with Down syndrome, chose to fly from Alaska to Texas to give a speech.

Her age alone would place her in the high risk pregnancy category. She chose to put her life and the life of her unborn child in great danger.

According to Ms. Palin, even though her water had an unexpected break, she continued with the speech in Texas. After the speech, she did not seek assistance at a medical facility, but chose to fly back to Alaska where baby Trig was eventually born, one month prematurely. She stated that having four other children gave her expertise in labor and delivery.

I question her judgment. I question, not when she thinks life begins, but when she thinks it is perfectly all right to risk that child’s life.

In my opinion, it seems that putting her baby at risk for a premature birth — which may have ended his life — falls within her pro-life beliefs. I question anyone who knowingly puts self or a baby at risk of losing precious God-given life.

She is not tough. She is reckless. Her pro-life position, her judgment and integrity should be carefully scrutinized.
