Masked suspects take $300K in jewelry, man says

Posted

Police are looking for three masked men who reportedly robbed a man at gunpoint outside of Starbucks and made off with about $300,000 worth of jewelry.

The Parker Police Department is still at the scene and temporarily shut down an entrance to the Starbucks from South Parker Road just north of Lincoln Avenue. The man told police that as he opened the passenger door of his van to put his coffee inside, three masked men — one armed with a gun — robbed him of his jewelry collection and briefcase. The incident happened shortly before 10 a.m. Feb. 16.

The man was in Colorado from Kansas City for a convention, said Elise Penington, public affairs manager for the police. He did not sustain any injuries.

There is no description of the suspects’ vehicle and no description of the three men. There were no witnesses. Officers are now evaluating surveillance tape from surrounding businesses.

The Starbucks at Lincoln Avenue and Parker Road opened within the last few months.
