U.S. Air Force Airman Braaden T. Byrd has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Teri Todd, of Parker.

Army Sgt. Adam J. Taufmann has re-enlisted in the U.S. Army after more than three years of military service. Taufmann is an interior electrician with the 506th Quartermaster Company, Fort Lee, Va. He is the son of James J. Taufmann, of Peoria, Ill., and Susan L. Taufmann, of Parker. The sergeant is a 2003 graduate of Grandview High School, Aurora.
