About 100 cyclists participating in bike-to-work day in Parker paused for doughnuts on their commute June 22.
A breakfast station, hosted for the first time by the E-470 Public Highway Authority, was located on the E-470 trail at Chambers Road.
The highway authority hosted the event in hopes of teaching bikers about their agency and the regional trail system.
E-470 has built about 13 miles of the High Plains Trail, which runs adjacent to the road and connects to Cherry Creek, Piney Creek, Happy Canyon and C-470 trails, according to the agency news release.
Those who stopped at the station had a chance to guess how many candies were in a jar with the winner selecting their favorite nonprofit for a donation.
E-470 is a 47-mile beltway around the east Denver metro area from Douglas County to Adams County. It is primarily funded by tolls.
