Multiple areas of the foothills communities were represented at Sweet Hayden’s small makers market on May 12.

Sweet Hayden boutique in downtown Evergreen hosted its monthly pop up shop for local vendors and makers where they hosted local businesses and their wares. 

The pop up featured multiple local vendors, including those with skincare products, clothing, baked goods and syrup. Laura Vorster with Pezzo Apparel has been in business for 7 years.

“This is my first pop up in Evergreen,” Vorster said.

At Pezzo Apparel, Vorster strives to be zero waste. She designs, sews and sells the products she makes, and uses her scraps to create jewelry and other accessories. 

Amber Burr, owner of Daddy’s Homemade Syrup, also was at the event. She tries to be active in the local community.

“This is my third one here,” she said of the pop up at Sweet Hayden. 

Daddy’s Homemade has some new fun flavors, like maple bourbon, chai, butterscotch and ginger. It also recently won “Home-based Business of the Year” with the Conifer Chamber of Commerce. 

Sunshine Moonbeam Baking Co. is based out of Kristin Smith’s home in Bailey. She has been in the business for over a year, and does small batch, custom order baked goods like cookies, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls and more. Her favorite thing to make is something that would make anyone smile.

“I love spinning the cotton candy,” she said.

Smith does most of her sales through social media and her website, but enjoys getting out into the community at vendor events. 

Nicci Jay, who works at Sweet Hayden, said the shop has been doing these pop up events since December. 

“We just want to introduce the community to these small makers,” she said. 

Jay said she enjoys these nights where the shop stays open late, and loves to get to know business owners and makers in the area.
