Zink, Yanex named Rotary Club of Parker Students of the Month

Madeline Zink and Emma Yanex were honored with Student of the Month awards from the Rotary Club of Parker for the month of January.

Zink, of Ponderosa High School, has been involved in many activities, such as National Honor Society, Student Council, Link Crew, Ponderosa Bridge Project and is a Ponderosa Activities cabinet member. Zink also participated in JV track and field, JV tennis and is an athletic training aid. Her community service includes volunteering at the Ave Maria Carnival, Denver Rescue Mission, Special Olympics Hawaii, Christmas For Kids and Trick or Treat Street for Kids.

Zink has been accepted to many colleges and universities and plans to study kinesiology, psychology or military strategy. She is pursuing military academics and ROTC to jump-start a military career in the Air Force or Army.

Yanex, of Chaparral High School, holds a grade point average of 4.15 and has lettered for four years in academics.

Yanex is involved in the Spanish Honor Society, Link Crew, the Unified Sports program and Adaptive Physical Education program as a peer to students with special needs.
